Our people and the communities they come from are essential to our success. We focus on building our people’s individual capabilities wherever possible, and aim to support and empower them to be the best they can be.
Living our mission starts from within at GSK. It is important to us that our employees are proud of the work they do, the company they work for, and the contributions they make through their work.
At GSK we are committed to supporting our employees on their individual career journey by developing their skills and capabilities, and offering them a range of development programs to help them progress along their chosen career path. You can read more about some of their journeys here.
Our focus on people is not just about our staff. We also work closely with local and global communities to support the people who need it most.
Globally, we work with a number of organisations to provide humanitarian donations to those in need. In 2014, GSK provided donations to more than 80 countries across the world, and our global community investment was a total of £201 million.
Across our New Zealand and Australian offices, staff also contributed 1,080 hours in community volunteer work through our corporate volunteering program, Orange Day. This contribution went to a variety of community organisations throughout 2015, including KidsCan, local schools and churches.
